SWCA Environmental Consultants has an exciting opportunity for an ON-CALL Assistant Architectural Historian position within our Cultural Resources program. This is a temporary, hourly position. This position will focus on a variety of office and field tasks. Work will occur in the San Francisco Bay area.
Job Requirements

Conduct field surveys and perform historic research

Prepare historic documentation, including California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) 523 Series forms
Assist in preparation of technical reports and historic evaluations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in History, Architectural History, or a closely related field strongly preferred
Experience preparing California DPR forms and conducting historic research and surveys
Familiarity with cultural resource laws, including NEPA, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and CEQA
Strong research, writing, and communication skills. Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
One year experience working in California cultural resource management as an assistant architectural historian or similar preferred
