Title: Archaeologist

Description: Transcon Environmental is seeking on-call archaeologists with experience working in Utah to assist in environmental compliance, surveys, and construction monitoring activities. Positions will be filled as projects demand. These positions are primarily field-based, requiring archaeological surveys of project sites and on-site monitoring of construction sites. The successful applicants shall be located in Utah, while applicants near Vernal, Utah will be favored. Applicants should be able to work long days in the field, in both the winter and summer. This is an on-call position, and hours will vary from 0-30 hours per week based on project needs, with potential for the position to become full-time.

Location: Transcon’s office in Draper, Utah would be the reporting location for the position, although remote applicants already located near Vernal would be favored.

Salary and benefits: Should this position become a full-time equivalent position Transcon offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, disability and life insurance and 401(k) retirement plan as well as paid time off and holidays. Salary will be commensurate with experience. This will be a non-exempt (hourly) position that will pay overtime in accordance applicable laws.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field, and previous experience performing archaeological surveys in Utah.
