Manager/Archaeologist *for a project assignment in California.

*Description: *

The Psomas environmental consulting team is looking for a skilled
archaeologist/cultural resources professional with experience for project
assignments in California and could include the potential of out of state
(Utah and Arizona) assignments.

*Duties:*

Fieldwork, such as survey, site recordation, testing, data recovery
excavation and construction monitoring; assisting in Native American
consultation/scoping; conducting record searches; preparing cultural
resources site forms; accomplishing curation related tasks; and
synthesizing and analyzing project materials to assist in completing
reports and environmental document sections.

Other responsibilities will include interfacing with clients and agency
representatives and supervising junior staff in the field, managing
budgets, preparing proposals, completing reports and other technical
documents, contributing to research designs, treatment plans and other
technical documents.

*Qualifications:*

– Minimum of 5 years’ experience with cultural resources work in
California
– Master’s degree in archaeology, anthropology or related field is
preferred
– Must be very analytical and have excellent technical writing skills
– Must have some Project Management experience and extensive fieldwork
experience
– Must have the ability to be listed on or progressing towards listing
on federal and state cultural resource permits
– Prior experience with managing and coordinating staff and other
resources within budgetary constraints
– Must be able to work independently in potentially adverse conditions,
as well as supervise small or large field crews;
– Adept at working with a variety of colleagues, clients, and agency
representatives
– Valid Drivers License and a clean motor vehicle record for the last 5
years
