Seeking Qualified Archaeological Technicians and Archaeological Monitors
Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc., (KEC) of Reno, Nevada, is currently accepting applications for field archaeologists for upcoming data recovery, monitoring, and pedestrian inventory projects. Fieldwork will begin in April 2017 and is expected to continue through the field season. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with an average range of $20-$25/hr. Anticipated fieldwork will occur in multiple locations throughout Nevada. Lodging and meal allowance are not provided for projects local to Reno. Meal allowance ($45/day) and lodging are provided for non-local projects.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a B.S. or B.A. in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a related field, and at least two years of field experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in the Great Basin and California. KEC is seeking professional archaeological candidates who are team-oriented, but also able to work independently and report to a Field Supervisor. Physical requirements for the position include the ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time, lift at least 50 lbs., and hike 10+ miles per day in rough terrain and weather conditions.
