Historian
27 year old environmental firm needs an Historian with excellent research
and writing experience for development of historic contexts, historical
documentation, and National Register nominations. Experience as an
architectural historian desirable. Candidates must demonstrate prior
experience in producing quality historical documentation. Candidates must
have a BA degree in history and 2-3 years experience (an MA degree in
history preferred.) Compensation package commensurate with experience.

analysis and data base management for Laboratory Director position in its
Plano, Texas corporate office. Must be familiar with or able to learn MS
Access. Previous experience with preparing collections for curation in
facilities of several states a plus. Candidates must have an MA Degree in
Anthropology, or equivalent experience and 3-5 years experience.
Previous experience in other archaeological skills or interest in

extensive writing and management experience in regional East Coast office
to direct compliance projects for both federal and commercial clients.
Prior experience as a cultural resources manager and experience with NEPA
documentation a plus. Demonstrated experience in directing the production

Employment Opportunity, Architectural Historian
Heberling Associates, Inc. is seeking a qualified, self-motivated
individual to join our staff as a Principal Investigator for architectural
history projects. This is a full-time salaried position in our
Huntingdon, PA office.
The ideal applicant will: 1) meet the Secretary of the Interior's
professional qualifications standards for architectural history; 2) be
well-versed in the Section 106 process; 3) have excellent organizational,
research, and writing skills; 4) be familiar with the history and
architecture of the Middle Atlantic region; 5) be able to complete projects
in a timely manner and within established budgets; and 6) have a high
degree of professional commitment and integrity. Applicant should have a
graduate degree in architectural history or closely related field and at
least two years experience in field work and Section 106 documentation.
The ability to work independently is critical.
Project assignments may include historic structures inventories and
evaluations; historic context development; Criteria of Effect reports;
HABS/HAER documentation; MOA and PA preparation; and National Register
nominations. The position also involves project development and
interaction with clients and public. Projects will be located in
Pennsylvania and adjacent states, and will require travel and occasional
overnight stays. Knowledge of technological/industrial history and
historic bridges is a definite plus.
Heberling Associates, Inc. is a small full service CRM firm based in scenic
central Pennsylvania. Our professional staff of eleven archaeologists,
architectural historians, and historians is supplemented by fifteen field
technicians and other support staff. We offer applicants an opportunity to
join a growing team of professionals in a pleasant and flexible working
environment. Fringe benefits include participation in the company's
medical and retirement plans. Although we prefer this to be a full-time,
permanent position, part-time or project-by-project status is possible.
There could be an option of being based in a detached home office.
Sarting Salary: $30,000-$40,000, based on qualifications.
