Great Lakes Research, Inc. is currently seeking applications for 2-3
archaeologists for work at the Straits of Mackinac in northern
Michigan. Selected personnel will be responsible for monitoring
waterline installations in zone of increased Native American
sensitivity. Each person will be working more-or-less independently
during the day, and will be required to intercede with construction
crews when necessary. Strong likelihood that burials will be
encountered, and are looking for people with at least some burial
experience. At least one person should be M.A. level; all should
have supervisory credentials. Wages in the $12-15 range, plus per
diem and housing. Overtime for over 40 hrs. per week, which appears
likely during summer. Work is expected to begin late April and may
continue through November. Will give preference to personnel who can
commit to large blocks of this time period. References are required
