EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT
ADVISORY COUNCIL ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION
WASHINGTON, DC

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, an independent federal
agency,
is seeking a Program Assistant for its Education Program. The position
entails
assignments in program planning, coordination, and administration, and
principal areas of responsibility include preservation education,
curriculum
development, program administration, and technical assistance related to
the
statutory mandates of the Council under the National Historic
Preservation
Act. The Education Program Assistant works under the supervision of the
Education Coordinator.

Specific responsibilities include:
 handling day-to-day operation of Council training courses;
 assisting with education projects and initiatives;
 assisting with development and production of educational and
informational
materials;
 providing information about training courses and helping publicize
Council
courses;
 maintaining program files, records, databases, photo collections, and
audiovisual materials; and
 helping to respond to diverse federal, state, local, tribal, and
private
sector educational needs.

Applicants should have:
 experience relating to the planning, administration, and
implementation of
education and outreach programs;
 knowledge and experience in developing and producing educational and
informational materials;
 ability to work with staff colleagues, federal agencies, state,
tribal, and
local governments, interested organizations, consultants, contractors,
and
members of the public on matters and issues related to education and
outreach
programs and projects;
 excellent writing and communication skills;
 experience with standard computer and software systems and work in an
office
environment.
A four-year degree and experience with WordPerfect and Microsoft Word,
Access
and PowerPoint are highly desirable.

Salary: $28,866/annual, plus benefits

Position Announcement

Kise Straw & Kolodner, Inc. (KSK) is seeking a highly-qualified,
motivated
Historian, Architectural Historian, and/or Archaeologist to serve as
Director of its Cultural Resources Group (CRG). KSK is a mid-size
architectural, planning, and cultural resource consulting firm located
in
Center City Philadelphia. The CRG provides full-service historical and
archaeological consulting services to public and private-sector clients
throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

An M.A. in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation,
Anthropology, or related field, at minimum, is required along with
extensive
experience in CRM project implementation. The position will involve
oversight of an experienced and capable team of professionals engaged in
a
full range of cultural resources projects, such as Section 106
compliance,
HABS/HAER documentation, National Register nominations, and all phases
of
archaeological investigations. Previous management experience is
necessary.
In addition, the candidate will be expected to identify new markets and
cultivate existing markets. The candidate must also be able to
demonstrate
an ability to work effectively within the constraints of budgets and
schedules. The right candidate will be a skilled marketer with
demonstrated
leadership skills.
