VHB’s growing Atlanta office is seeking three Archaeological Field Technicians to support our team for work on a project near the Augusta, Georgia area from May 15-May 19. The project schedule will include 60 hours of pedestrian survey and shovel testing. Hotel room accommodations, meals, and field vehicles will be provided.
Part-time on-call employment may be extended beyond this project as opportunities arise.

Responsibilities:
Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including pedestrian survey and shovel testing Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units Work closely with project team under the supervision of VHB archaeologists Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field or six (6) months field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, and excavation, and monitoring Participation in an accredited field school or equivalent experience Experience working as a field archaeologist in the Southeast United States Experience with the application of standard archaeological field and laboratory techniques Knowledge of TerraSync is a plus Ability to travel to a location, walk/hike and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Team oriented with strong capability to work independently Motivated to lead and mentor others
