SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) is seeking a Cultural Resources Team Lead for our growing Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The ideal candidate will serve as a Principal Investigator and Project Manager, provide staff mentorship and leadership, and manage and support cultural resources compliance projects in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and adjacent states. This is a full time, salaried position reporting to the Pittsburgh Office Director.

Job Requirements
Ability to foster a scholarly, positive, productive, and communicative working relationship with team members while promoting a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction
Provide scientific and project management mentorship to all members of the Pittsburgh Cultural Resources Team, which may include archaeologists and architectural historians, and other SWCA team members, as applicable
Supervise, mentor and instruct technical staff, field personnel, and subcontractors
Develop project specific excavation plans, mitigation recommendations, monitoring, and permitting approaches specific to cultural resource management
Author and review stand-alone cultural resource reports, assessments, and cultural resource portions of documents as related to federal and state agency requirements and/or recommendations.
Collaborate and effectively communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, SWCA staff members, and resource groups to obtain required permits and/or project concurrence
Prepare proposals, technical documents, white papers and other written deliverables and responses related to various client requests.
Manage projects and milestones within schedule and budget expectations
Manage client and agency relationships and conduct business development with new and existing clients to help ensure the financial success of the cultural resources team as a whole
Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner
Perform fieldwork (survey, testing, archaeological monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews on an as needed basis
Data QA/QC, organization, and tracking of field data, and collecting GPS data using Trimble units (knowledge of TerrSync operating systems is a plus)
Job Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of a Master’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or architectural history, or a closely related field is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management related to environmental consulting services
Extensive working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulatory agencies governing cultural resource management (i.e., PA, WV, OH SHPOs, PADEP, USACE, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in increasing levels of responsibility, including supervising, providing leadership, and mentoring for other professionals
Proven business development success and consulting acumen, including established credibility with federal and state reviewing agencies and clients
Previous advanced experience with proposal writing
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and with technical writing
