AmaTerra Environmental is an award-winning environmental consulting firm based in Austin, Texas and Las Cruces New Mexico. We serve federal, state, local and private sector clients for projects in the greater southwest. We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Project Archeologist in our cultural resources team. Job duties will include directing survey, testing and data recovery projects, report writing, laboratory analysis, and interfacing with clients and agency personnel. This position is based in our Austin, Texas office.

The position will be a permanent full-time position with benefits (insurance, 401k, paid leave, etc). The starting salary will be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience. Individuals interested in applying must have at least an MA/MS degree in anthropology, archeology, or a closely related field and two to three years of experience in the field of CRM, with progressively greater responsibility. Work experience in Texas, New Mexico or Oklahoma is greatly desired. Preference will be given to those who have specialized experience (such as GIS, geoarcheology, or faunal analysis), or who have served as a project director (directing excavation, analysis, and write-up) on at least one testing or data recovery excavation. Travel is expected approximately 25-40% of the time.
