R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. announces an exciting opportunity for professional archeologists in our rapidly growing New Mexico office. Position is for a Project Manager or Project Archeologis
t who would like the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals on current and upcoming projects in New Mexico and the greater Southwest. All positions are full time, permanent, professional positions with a full benefits package including paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; health, dental, and life insurance; and a liberal 401(k) plan. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with educational and professional experience.
1. Minimum requirements for all applicants are:
a. Completion of a M.A or M.S. in Anthropology from an accredited university and two years of professional archeology experience as a supervisor with at least sixteen (16) months of experience as a field supervisor in the Southwest. Three (3) references are required of all applicants and official University transcripts may be requested.
b. Able to be permitted by the BLM as a field supervisor in New Mexico or Arizona. For consideration at the project manager level, the candidate must be able to be permitted as a project director and field supervisor by the BLM.
c. This position will include time in the field supervising crews and administrative duties such as logistics, planning, managing personnel, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should be in good physical condition and able to fulfill work related duties under variable conditions.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of being team-oriented and having excellent interpersonal skills; the ability and drive to maintain high professional standards, the ability to manage logistics for a wide variety of projects in different locations in New Mexico and the Southwest, and the skills to work closely and cooperatively with clients and permitting and review agencies. Candidates should demonstrate experience and proficiency in writing professional correspondence, site forms, and technical reports. Successful applicants should have significant experience with hand-held GPS units and data collection. Familiarity with both historic and prehistoric sites/artifacts common to the Southwest is required. Candidates who already hold current, valid BLM permits are encouraged to apply. A writing sample may be requested as part of the application process.
